Why Arvell Watches was founded in 2014, and the design philosophy behind the brand.
Arvell Watches was founded in Zürich in 2014 by industrial designer Lena Arvell. The starting point was a gap she saw in the market: Swiss Made watches under 1,000 CHF were dominated by conservative, safe designs - while bold, statement-driven design was left to fashion brands without Swiss substance.
Arvell's founding idea: bold design on a Swiss Made foundation. Distinctive cases and dials, but with the substance buyers expect from Switzerland - Ronda movements, sapphire crystal, 316L steel, and a 5-year warranty.
Milestones
The brand launched its first collection in 2016, moved fully to Swiss Made production in 2021, and introduced its first automatic reference in 2023. The full history is on the Timeline.

Arvell does not claim centuries of heritage - the brand is honest about being young. It competes on design, specification and warranty, not on history. See Strengths and Limitations.
