How to clean an Arvell watch, care for water resistance, and what to avoid.
Routine cleaning
- Steel case and bracelet: soft cloth; monthly, lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap and a soft brush - only on references rated 5 ATM and above, crown fully pushed in (screwed down on Arden).
- Leather straps: dry cloth only. Keep away from water and sunscreen - leather is a wear part, not a warranty case.
- Rubber and canvas straps: rinse with fresh water, air-dry.
After sea water
Rinse case, bracelet and bezel with fresh water the same day. Salt crystals grind bezels and clasps - see Troubleshooting if action feels gritty.
Water resistance care
- Never operate crown or pushers under water
- Screw crowns fully down after every use (Arden)
- Gaskets age: pressure test at every battery change and service, or every 2-3 years for frequently submerged watches

What to avoid
Ultrasonic cleaners (head with movement inside), solvents and alcohol on dials and straps, hot water on any leather, magnets near automatics (why).
